The deals ledger

Every car we land, with the estimate we gave before the bid and the invoices after.

A landed-cost calculator is only worth what it gets right. This is the record it is held to: each car’s estimate frozen on the day of the bid, the real invoices and Revenue’s receipt beside it, the difference in euro and per cent, and how long it took. No names, no cherry-picking, cancelled deals included.

Estimate and actual are the all-in figures on Irish plates including our fee. VRT band shows ours, then Revenue’s once assessed. Updated 18 Sept 2026.

How the score is computed

Four rules, so the number cannot be dressed up.

  1. 1

The estimate is frozen before the bid

On the day a bid is placed we save the calculator link, the ECB rate it used, the rules version and every cost line. It is never recomputed afterwards, so a better exchange rate or a rule change cannot flatter it.

  2. 2

    The actual is the paper

Every line is filled from an invoice, the customs declaration or Revenue’s VRT receipt, with the source named. Nothing is estimated on the actual side. A car counts as landed only when it has Irish plates and every line has a figure.

  3. 3

The difference is measured against you

Error is actual minus estimate, as a share of the estimate, on the all-in figure including our fee. Currency movement between the estimate and the transfer counts against us, because it would count against you.

  4. 4

    VRT is scored separately

Revenue’s valuation and band are recorded beside ours. A band miss costs real money, so we report how many cars landed in the band we said, not just the euro total.

Targets we hold ourselves to: within 3% on the all-in figure and the VRT band as predicted. Customers are never named and chassis numbers are masked; the private file behind this page holds the rest. Run the calculator on your own car
