Chassis verification report

The car’s auction history, read before anyone bids.

A used car in Japan leaves a record at every auction it passes through. The report pulls that record by chassis number, applies the rules in our guide, matches the sheet and the export certificate to the car, and gives a verdict with every check shown. Below is a sample.

  1. 1

The chassis number, off the car

Not from the listing: from the plate or the stamping, photographed by the exporter. The number is the key to every record the car has left behind.

  2. 2

    Every auction appearance

Japanese auction houses record each car they sell: date, house, lot, grade, mileage, result and price. We pull the appearances by chassis number and read them in order.

  3. 3

    The rules, applied

Mileage may only rise. Repair history declared once cannot vanish later. A grade that jumps between sales was earned in a bodyshop or given by a kinder house. A car back at auction three times in a year has a reason.

  4. 4

    The paper, matched

The sheet in hand and the export certificate are compared to the chassis, so a substituted sheet or a wrong certificate is caught before money moves. The build country sets the duty.

An invented car with a real-shaped history, so you can see what every check reads and how the verdict is reached.

What this report cannot tell you

  • · History from the exporter’s auction platform, looked up by chassis number.
  • · Auction records cover auction sales only. A car sold privately or through a dealer between auctions leaves no trace for that period.
  • · Flood, theft and outstanding-finance checks are not part of Japanese auction records. The export certificate confirms deregistration, nothing more.
  • · Grades are one inspector’s judgement at one house. Compare grades within a house, and read the diagram and notes before trusting the number.
  • · A report describes the paper trail up to the date it was generated. The car itself is inspected at the NCTS appointment, not here.

Questions

What it reads, and what it cannot.

Is this a history check like the UK ones?

Different data. UK checks read finance, write-off and theft registers. Japanese auction records are the inspection history of the car at every sale: grade, mileage, repair history and notes, written by the auction house rather than the seller. They are the most honest record a used car in Japan has, and nothing in the Irish market reads them for buyers.

Can a report clear a car completely?

No. It can confirm that the paper trail is consistent and catch the frauds that leave a trace: the sheet from another car, the mileage that went backwards, the repair history that was quietly dropped. It cannot see private sales between auctions, flood or theft, or the mechanical state of the car today.

Do I get one on a car you source for me?

Every car we bid on has one first, and it sits in your deal room with the timeline and the documents. That is the promise in the name: 審査, inspection.

Can I order one for a car I found myself?

Not yet as a public product; the history records cost per lookup and the service is being set up. Ask through the contact page and we will do it by hand while the numbers are small.

Every car we source gets one

The report is built before we bid and lives in your deal room beside the timeline, the documents and the costs against the estimate.
